2025 Presidential Inauguration Schedule & Balls

Day 1: Explore D.C. attractions

There are countless landmarks and museums in the nation’s capital, and we are here to help you navigate them all.

Day 2: Monday, Jan 20, 2025: Swearing-In Ceremony

The official ceremonies of Inauguration Day start at noon on the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol with the vice president-elect and president-elect taking the Oaths of Office administered by the chief justice of the Supreme Court. The President then gives a speech known as the inaugural address.

These are the ticket options for the swearing-in ceremony:

  1. Mall Standing
  2. Closer Standing  (Union Square, North, South, West, Northwest, Southwest)
  3. Seated

Following the swearing-in ceremony, the President and Vice President will lead the inaugural parade approximately 1.5 miles from the Capitol to the White House. Once there, the presidential entourage will review the parade from an enclosed stand.

Official Presidential Inaugural Committee Balls

There will be a few distinct balls where the POTUS will make an appearance.

Each inaugural committee decides how many official PIC balls to host. The President and First Lady will come out, make an appearance at each and usually share a first dance in front of the crowd. Various musical guests also perform. These are held at the Washington Convention Center and other venues in the area. There were three balls in 2017, known as Liberty ball, Freedom ball, and a Military ball.

There are 10 to 20 other balls, but they are not official Presidential Inaugural Committee balls.  [Tickets NOT for sale here]
